Jason Bohn had stent inserted after heart attack for major blockage
When Jason Bohn suffered a heart attack on Friday after the second round of The Honda Classic, it was initially reported that the 42-year-old had a minor episode.
Bohn, however, told NBC Sports on Saturday that was not the case. Doctors found Bohn had a 99 percent blockage of the left anterior descending artery –– known as the "widow maker" as a blockage in it has a tendency to lead to a major heart attack.
Bohn also told the network via text message that he had been dealing with bronchitis and pneumonia.
The heart attack happened after Bohn shot 72 in the second round to make the cut on the number. He experienced chest pains and asked for medical staff to assist him. He was taken by ambulance to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.
There's no word yet when Bohn will be released from the hospital.
